There have been several cruise ships at Liverpool in the last week, but for various reasons I had been unable to photograph them. Fortunately, most of them I’d photographed before so wasn’t too disappointed. Today’s cruise ship was the Silversea Cruises’ Silver Whisper. She was one of the ships in during the last week or so which I hadn’t photographed before so was glad that she was back so soon, giving me a second chance to capture her. Her visit on the 5 June was her maiden visit to Liverpool.
As usual I photographed her and took some video of her berthed at the Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal. You can view the videos and photos on my YouTube channel. Alternatively you can just watch the raw video footage.
The ship at the terminal tomorrow is Celebrity Cruises’ Eclipse which is making her maiden visit to Liverpool. When the Eclipse departs the River Mersey tomorrow night at 7pm the occasion will marked with a “colourful confetti show” which will also be proceeded by a quayside concert featuring music from The Beatles album “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band,” which is being marked this summer in the city by a series of events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic album. There will also be similar events at the Pier Head on Thursday to mark the departure of the Cruise & Maritime Voyages ship Magellan at around 7pm. I hope to catch both ships leaving, and as always posts will follow on my blog.
You can view all the upcoming cruise ship visits to the city on the schedule of the Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal.
