Despite having an outpatients appointment at the hospital today I managed to make it the Cruise Liner Terminal in the early evening to photograph and video the latest visitor to the city. The MS Europa is the sister ship of Europa 2, which was at Liverpool in July on the same day as the Crystal Symphony. The Europa is operated by Hapag-Llloyd Cruises. She is nearly 30,000 gross tonnage and, is 651.6 feet long by 79 feet breadth. She has seven passenger decks, can carry 408 passengers and 275 crew and can travel at 20 knots. She was built in Finland in 1999 and her port of registry is Nassau in the Bahamas.
As has been usual of late, I took only a few photos – which are shown in this post – and concentrated on getting some video of the cruise ship, which is now on YouTube. (also at the top of this post). For all my photos of cruise ships, see my collection on Flickr.
The busy summer schedule at the Cruise Liner Terminal in Liverpool continues unabated. The schedule for the rest of August is…
- Saturday 20 Aug 2016 – Aida Vita (Aida)
- Sunday 21 Aug 2016 – Seven Seas Voyager (Regent)
- Monday 22 Aug 2016 – Artania (Phoenix Reisen)
- Saturday 27 Aug 2016 – Marco Polo (CMV)
- Sunday 28 Aug 2016 – Caribbean Princess (Princess)
- Monday 29 Aug 2016 – Boudicca (Fred Olsen)
The regularity of visits will then drop off. There will only four different vessels visiting in September, two in October, 1 in November and 2 in December. The Boudicca will be the most frequent visitor – with another 10 visits due before the end of the year – nearly half of all cruise ship visits still to come in 2016!
