Friday 12 August 2016 – “Marina” cruise liner at Liverpool. The first of many over the next two weeks

Another day, another cruise ship visits Liverpool’s cruise liner terminal. Today’s ship was the MS Marina, operated  by Oceania Cruises. Her construction was completed in September 2010 and she made her maiden voyage  the following January. She  is 66,000 tons, 782 feet in length and 105 feet in width. She has a draft of 24 feet and can carry up to 1,252 passengers and 780 crew. As has become a tradition for me, I walked from the Liverpool One bus station through the Albert Dock and Pier Head to photograph and video the ship.

The cruise liner terminal will be busy for the rest of August with nine cruise ships visiting on eleven different days. The schedule for the rest of August is…

  • Saturday 13 Aug 2016 – Braemar (Fred Olsen)
  • Sunday 14 Aug 2016 – Boudicca (Fred Olsen)
  • Monday 15 Aug 2016  – Seabourn Quest (Seabourn)
  • Tuesday 16 Aug 2016  – Caribbean Princess (Princess)
  • Thursday 18 Aug 2016  – Europa (Hapag Lloyd)
  • Saturday 20 Aug 2016  – Aida Vita (Aida)
  • Sunday 21 Aug 2016   – Seven Seas Voyager (Regent)
  • Monday 22 Aug 2016  – Artania (Phoenix Reisen)
  • Saturday 27 Aug 2016  – Marco Polo (CMV)
  • Sunday 28 Aug 2016  – Caribbean Princess (Princess)
  • Monday 29 Aug 2016  – Boudicca (Fred Olsen)

Of these I have already photographed the BraemarBoudicca and Caribbean Princess – the latter two of these  will both be in Liverpool twice before the end of August. I haven’t photographed any of the other six cruise ships so will be keen to photograph as many as I can, weather and health permitting.
