I photographed and filmed last night’s Samba Carnival in Liverpool, following on from the Brouhaha Carnival Parade Through Toxteth the previous Saturday. Last night’s carnival was bigger and louder than ever with several drum bands as well as the usual samba dancers and floats. The parade began on Abercromby Square in the University District and snaked its way slowly to Whitechapel in the city centre via Oxford Street, Hope Street, Hardman Street, Leece Street, Bold Street and Church Street. I followed the parade as far as the “Bombed-out Church” on Leece Street. Some photos are below. You can see the rest of my photos and my videos via the links at the bottom of this post.
